I have always felt happiest amongst the trees, they have a calmness and positive energy about them. You can't walk through a woodland without it provoking distant memories.

As a child, school was not my favourite way to spend time. After all, if you are not naturally academic then your probably going to be more of a creative type. This was me and as the barriers of learning grew I decided to go into my head where my imagination had no boundaries  My comfortable place as a shy and awkward teenager was amongst the landscapes and woodlands of Hertfordshire. There I could be free to wander and observe the lines, forms and rhythmic pattens of mother nature.

During my daily diversion home from school I began to sketch and doodle on the covers of my school books. This is when and where I discoverd a journey of mark making and it was the only thing that made sense to me.
